SDGRS Board of Directors, Officers, Officials, etc.
The SDGRS bylaws define how people "serve" the club, how they get positions, who votes on the board, etc. Click here for the SDGRS BYLAWS
There are 3 "classification" for members defined in the bylaws: (besides member in good standing)
- "Board Member" - one of the 9 people elected to the board of directors (BOD) by yearly elections (more below)
- "Officer", the President, Vice President, and Treasurer, who must be on the BOD
- "Official", which includes, but not limited to: Secretary, Newsletter Editor, Webmaster (and their assistants).
Please note:
The BOD is elected and comprises a total of 7 members who serve 2 year terms. On alternate years 3 positions are elected and 4 positions the next.
Officers MUST be members of the BOD.
Officials are first selected from BOD, if that fails, then they will be appointed by the BOD from the general membership.
Important notice: Recently the bylaws have been changed to allow changes in the size of the BOD. After approval of the bylaw changes, the BOD changed the size to 7 members, and immediately "dropped" 2 members from the existing board.
In the table below, the year after the name indicates the year this person/position was elected/filled. The positions come up for re-election in 2 years after election, so by adding 2 years to the date you see after the name, that is the year that position comes up for re-election. Again, it's not people, it 7 positions to be filled.
