This is our existing SDGRS logo. We are working to have a second version, a simplified one that still looks good when scaled down or fewer colors.

Pictures from the Big Boy run, late Summer, 2019
Picture below from Rich Perrelli:
All the following pictures courtesy of James Kuhns:
Stopped at Kelso (near the Kelso Dunes) for servicing. Blocking the only road south in the area.
Running at 40 MPH southwest of Afton Canyon heading for Yermo.
Smiling in the sun in the UP yard at Yermo. "Big Boy" on the smoke box is in chalk and has to be replaced when the loco gets wet or whatever. That name was place on the very first of these locos by a worker and that is how the Big Boy got its name.
Yes, that is bicycle chain and controls forward/reverse.
Barstow, it only the container trains were not there. In my mind they were not to be there.
Mormon Rocks. The people just had to get next to the train which could have done 100's of other places.
A place almost no one knew about.
Also, we requested members bring a potluck dish in the newsletter. A-M please bring salad or side dish and N-Z please bring dessert. You only need to bring enough for 4 or 5 people. Please let us know what you are bringing.
Please contact a board member for addition to the list, even if you are not attending.

From time to time SDGRS will host information on for sale items. Normally this is reserved for members in good standing only. All for sale postings are subject to review by the board of directors prior to posting.
SDGRS makes no guarantee as to the accuracy of the listings, nor the seller. Although we do our best to check things out, please exercise common sense in purchasing items.
As this is a new feature, please submit your request to any person on the board of directors. The fastest way is to email the webmaster, who will put your for sale items up.
Note to all sellers: Your for sale post will be automatically removed after 3 months unless you email the webmaster, to extend your posting.
We have a forum at: https://groups.io/g/SDGRS/messages and if you have not joined, you can join easily. (this is a migration of our old Yahoo group to groups.io.
The nice thing is you can post yourself, and you can embed pictures in your posts yourself.

As train shows aren't what they used to be and neither am I, I'm starting to take Parts of the Door Hollow Shortline and recreating a layout in the back of my "barn" train room.
This building made some appearances on the Del Oro Modular layout but was too big for the DHS. It's a model of the famous Alpine Hose firehouse in Georgetown Colorado where the Georgetown loop starts. It stands 30" at the tower. The entire unit is 18" deep and the building is 11" wide and stands 14" high. The structure is thin plywood covered with vinyl sheet.
I feel that as it is the only one I know of it should be worth $150. All these items are available in Fallbrook but very difficult to ship.
My Phone is 760-213-0635 Hope to hear from you, Bob Baxter.
